"Leadership During Crisis: Fire, Flooding, and Catastrophic Loss.” Rear Admiral John Mauger, US Coast Guard (Retired) will recount his time leading the First Coast Guard District during the summer of 2023, when First Coast Guard District units responded to multiple crises including the loss of the TITAN submersible, the fire onboard the Grande Costa D'Avorio which tragically took the lives of two Newark Firefighters, and historic flooding across New England. RADM Mauger will reflect on Coast Guard capabilities, training, and culture which enable the service to lead under extreme conditions.
